Always be careful who you take as your friends. Allāh ﷻ says when referring to Yawm Al-Qiyāmah:
On that Day the evildoer will bite his own hand and say, “If only I had taken the same path as the Messenger. Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend. It was he who truly made me stray from the Reminder after it had reached me.” [Sūrah Furqān, Āyāt 27-29]
